Help your child build healthy everyday habits with this practical, engaging Health and Physical Education unit designed especially for homeschooling families.
Created for children in their first year of school, this unit includes 10 flexible lessons exploring food, water, movement, rest, sleep, hygiene, dental care, emotional wellbeing and healthy daily routines. Children learn through practical activities, discussions, sorting, movement, role-play, drawing and simple hands on investigations.
The unit also helps children recognise body signals such as hunger, thirst, fullness and tiredness, identify trusted adults who can help them, and understand how everyday choices can support both physical and emotional wellbeing.

Each lesson is designed to take approximately 30–45 minutes and can be shortened, extended or completed over several sessions to suit your child’s needs and attention span.
Activities include discussing, sorting, drawing, movement games, creating healthy meal and lunchbox ideas, practising hygiene routines, exploring body signals, completing simple investigations and developing healthy routine charts.
Written work can be replaced with verbal explanations, pointing, matching, photographs, drawings or parent-scribed responses, making the unit flexible for different learning styles and abilities.
